Srinagar, Dec 07: In a significant operation, Jammu and Kashmir Police in Baramulla successfully apprehended a black marketeer involved in the illegal sale of petroleum products.

A Police party led by SHO PS Tangmarg arrested shopkeeper namely Shabir Ahmad Parray son of Gh Ahmad resident of Drooru Tangmarg for his involvement in selling Petroleum products at exorbitant rates at his shop at Tangmarg Baramulla. Officers also recovered 210 litres of Diesel from his shop. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody, a police spokesman said.

Accordingly, police said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Tangmarg and investigations has been initiated.

Meanwhile, community members has hailed the efforts of police for their quick and vigilant action against such persons. Police has assured the community members that Police is resolved to act tough against the individuals involved in criminal activities.
