Srinagar: Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani on Sunday expressed deep grief over the demise of leading Islamic scholar and Jamat-e-Islami leader Mohammad Sultan Wani.
In a statement issued here, Geelani said Wani was a very sincere devotee and preacher of high status, who throughout his life span served Islam.
“I know him since long and both of us had opportunity to work together for ongoing freedom movement. We have lost a sincere and dedicated worker,” said Geelani.
He said late Mohd Sultan remained affiliated and contributed services to Islam and freedom movement till last moment.
He prayed for heavenly aboard for departed soul and forbiddance and patience for the grieved family to bear this irreparable loss.
