Srinagar: Two policemen were injured when bike-borne militants hurled a at a police party at Baramulla district in north Kashmir on Monday evening.

“A joint naka was established at Juhama Baramulla for routine domination. In the evening hours during naka checking, one motorcycle which was coming from opposite side, made an about turn after seeing the naka party. While being challenged to stop, one among the two (militants) riding the motorcycle hurled a grenade towards the naka party and managed to fled from the spot,” a police spokesman said in a statement issued here.

Two policemen received minor injuries and both have been shifted to hospital for treatment.

“Soon after the incident, a man hunt has been launched and the area has been cordoned off to nab the (militant). In this regard a case was registered and investigation has been taken up.”
