Srinagar: In wake of the commemoration of Karbala tragedy restrictions have been imposed in Karan Nagar, Shaheed Gung, Dalgate and Abi Guzar areas of the city and no Muharram Processions would be allowed in these areas.

Inspector General of Police Kashmir Muneer  Ahmad Khan told INS that there would be restrictions in these areas but all the muharram processions would be allowed through the traditional routes as per past practice.

“No Muharram processions would be allowed on main roads of the city. However the traditional and inner routes which are used by the mourners as per past practice will be permitted,” Khan said on Thursday.
