2 Medical shops sealed, 3 licenses suspended for violation at Budgam

BUDGAM, SEPTEMBER 06: The Drug Controller Department Budgam today sealed two medical shops for operating without proper drug license besides licenses of three drug stores were also suspended for violating conditions.

The action against the erring was taken during a massive market checking drive in various areas of the district.

During the drive, a team of Drug Inspectors, led by Assistant Drug Controller (ADC) Budgam, Nazir Ahmad found two medical shops at Galwapora Budgam and Kutbal Charar-e-Sharief  were operating illegally without a proper drug license. Taking action, the team sealed both medical shops on spot.

During the drive, as many as five numbers of samples were lifted for Test/Analysis to check the quality of drugs. Five numbers of medical stores were also served show-cause notices for failing to submit sale/ purchase records of habit forming drugs.

Strict instructions were given regarding installation of CCTV and computers system for maintaining digital record of sale of drugs.

The medical store operators were advised to ensure posters and pamphlets are pasted in all  medical shops/ agencies depicting ill effects of habit forming drugs.

Meanwhile, the Assistant Drug Controller said that the drive will continue across the district.
