Srinagar, Aug 5: Jammu -Srinagar highway, the only surface link connecting Kashmir Valley with the outside world, was closed due to shooting stones along the thoroughfare, mainly in  Ramban district, officials said on Friday.

“Highway is blocked at Mehad, Cafeteria, Ramban due to continuous shooting stones,” a traffic department official here said in a statement. “People are advised not to travel on Jammu -Srinagar highway without confirmation from Traffic Control Units Jammu/Srinagar/Ramban.”
