J&K Reports 739 Covid-19 Cases, Active Tally Nears 5000

Srinagar, Aug 3: Jammu and Kashmir reported 739 fresh covid-19 cases even as there was no death to the virus during the last 24 hours, officials said on Wednesday.

They said that 196 cases were reported from Jammu division and 543 from Kashmir Valley, taking the overall tally to 466643. Among the cases, 171951 are from Jammu division and 294692 from Kashmir Valley.

Providing district wise details of the cases, they said, Jammu reported 129 cases, Udhampur 11, Rajouri 13, Doda 6, Kathua 6, Samba 9, Kishtwar 12, Poonch 4, Ramban 6, Reasi 0, Srinagar 235, Baramulla 165, Budgam 57, Pulwama 3, Kupwara 28, Anantnag 21, Bandipora 16, Ganderbal 5, Kulgam 11 and Shopian 2.

There was no death reported during the time. So far 4773 people succumbed to the virus and among them include 2344 from Jammu division and 2429 from the Valley.

Besides, they said, 645 Covid-19 patients recovered during the last 24 hours—220 from Jammu division and 425 from Kashmir Valley. There are now 4940 active cases— 1639 in Jammu and 3301 in Kashmir.

The officials said there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 51 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said. They also informed that 8644 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K.
