333 Covid-19 Cases, One Death Reported In Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, July 19: Jammu and Kashmir reported 333 covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the highest single-day spike in nearly six months, even as there was one death due to the pathogen during the time, officials said on Tuesday.

187 cases were reported from Jammu division and 146 from Kashmir division, taking the overall tally to 457517, they said.

Giving district wise details, they said, Srinagar reported 137 cases, Jammu 95,  Udhampur 20, Samba 14, Baramulla and Ganderbal 12 each, Budgam 11, Kupwara nine, Anantnag 5, Rajouri three, Doda and Kishtwar two each and Kulgam one.

Among the total cases, 168286 are from Jammu division and 288898 from Kashmir, they said.

There was one death from Jammu region due to the pathogen in the last 24 hours, they said. So far 4760 people have succumbed to the virus—2334 in Jammu and 2426 in Kashmir.

Besides, they said, 70 Covid-19 patients recovered during the last 24 hours—30 from Jammu division and 40 from Kashmir Valley. There are now 1402 active case— 801 in Jammu and 601 in Kashmir.

The officials said there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 51 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said. They also informed that 23430 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K.
