Jammu and Kashmir Logs 166 Fresh Covid-19 Cases, No Death Reported

Srinagar, Feb 19: Jammu and Kashmir reported 166 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the lowest single-day count in 47 days, even as there was no death due to the virus, officials said on Saturday.

They said 103 of the fresh cases were reported from Jammu Division and 63 from Kashmir Division, taking the overall tally to 452155.

Giving district wise details, the officials said, Srinagar reported 21 cases, Baramulla 4, Budgam 4, Pulwama 3, Kupwara 13, Anantnag 6, Bandipora 10, Ganderbal 2, Kulgam 0, Shopian 0, Jammu 51, Udhampur 5, Rajouri 1, Doda 23, Kathua 8, Samba 1, Kishtwar 2, Poonch 3, Ramban 5 and Reasi 4.

A few of these cases were confirmed at diagnostic centres associated with GMC Srinagar and include Male (20) from Naseembagh, male (23) from Chanpora sgr, female (54) from Chanpora sgr, male (70) from Kanitar, male (32) from Naseembagh, male (26) from Pampore, male (38) from Namlabal pampore, female (62) from Tahab pulwama, female (35) (NA) from Bellow pulwama, male (45) (NA) from Gabbarpora pulwama, male (50) (NA) from Keegam shopian, female (28) (NA) from Arigam pulwama, female (45) (NA) from Charipora pulwama, female (50)  (NA) from Babhara pulwama, male (73) (NA) from Chanpora, female (100) (NA) from Sgr, male (40) (NA) from HMT, female (25) (NA) from Zakura.

There was no death either from Jammu or Kashmir in the last 24 hours, they said. So far 4746 persons have succumbed to the virus—2324 in Jammu and 2422 in Kashmir.

Besides, they said, 469 Covid-19 patients—242 from Jammu and 227 from Valley— recovered during the time. So far 444646 people have recovered, leaving the active case tally at 2294— 1168 in Jammu and 1126 in Kashmir.

They said there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 51 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said. They also informed that 23670 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K.
