J&K Reports 197 Fresh Covid-19 Cases, 1 Death

Srinagar, Feb 18: Jammu and Kashmir reported 197 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the lowest single-day count in 46 days, even as one person succumbed to the virus, the first death reported after four days, officials said on Friday.

They said 118 of the fresh cases were from Jammu Division and 79 from Kashmir Division, taking the overall tally to 451989.

Giving district wise details, they said, Srinagar reported 30 cases, Baramulla 20, Budgam 12, Pulwama 0, Kupwara 5, Anantnag 2, Bandipora 6, Ganderbal 1, Kulgam 3, Shopian 0, Jammu 41, Udhampur 1, Rajouri 1, Doda 42, Kathua 10, Samba 1, Kishtwar 1, Poonch 4, Ramban 12 and Reasi 5.

A few of these cases were confirmed at GMC Anantnag and include female (70) from NA, male (45) from Sagam Kokernag and male (63) from Gawas Kapran.

There was no death either from Jammu or Kashmir in the last 24 hours, they said. So far 4745 persons have succumbed to the virus—2323 in Jammu and 2422 in Kashmir.

Besides, they said, 577 Covid-19 patients—269 from Jammu and 308 from Valley— recovered during the time. So far 444646 people have recovered, leaving the active case tally at 2597— 1307 in Jammu and 1290 in Kashmir.

They said there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 51 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said. They also informed that 32341 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K.
