Jammu: Government on Sunday urged Army to assist in restoration of essential services in the Jammu region of the Union Territory Jammu and Kashmir.
An official communication from Divisional Commissioner Jammu Raghav Langer to Army stated that due to strike by Electricity Department personnel in the UT of J&K, essential services have been severely affected in the Jammu region.

“We would like to hereby requisition the Indian Army to assist in the restoration of said essential services by provisioning man power to man critical electricity stations and water supply sources,” the requisition read.
UT J&K has been facing acute power outage since the Power Departments employees have gone on strike to press government over their demands.
