J&K Reports 2 Covid-19 Deaths, 136 Cases

Srinagar, Dec 17: Jammu and Kashmir reported two fresh deaths due to covid-19 while 136 persons tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours, officials said on Friday.

40 of the fresh cases were reported from Jammu Division and 96 from Kashmir, taking the overall tally to 339540.

There were two deaths reported in J&K—one each from the Valley and Jammu division respectively—due to the virus during the last 24 hours, they said. So far 4510 persons—2193 in Jammu and 4510 in Kashmir—have died due to the virus, they said.

Giving district wise details of the fresh cases, the officials said that Srinagar reported 54 cases, Baramulla 10, Budgam 7, Pulwama 2, Kupwara 4, Anantnag 4, Bandipora 4, Ganderbal 11, Kulgam 0, Shopian 0, Jammu 18, Udhampur 6, Rajouri 3, Doda 6, Kathua 5, Samba 1, Kishtwar 0, Poonch 1, Ramban 0 and Reasi 0.

Moreover, 121 Covid-19 patients recovered during the time, 32 from Jammu Division and 89 from Kashmir, they said.

So far 333582 patients have recovered, leaving active case tally at 1448—365 in Jammu and 1083 in Kashmir.

They said there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 50 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said.

They also informed that 59856 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K.
