ACB arrests Halqa Patwari in corruption case

Srinagar: Anti Corruption Bureau on Thursday said that it has arrested Showkat Ahmad Lone, Patwari Halqa Hari Ganwan Gund Ganderbal for accepting bribe for issuance of documents pertaining to inheritance.

Officials at the ACB said that they had received a complaint that Showkat Ahmad Lone, Patwari, Halqa Hari Ganwan, Gund, Ganderbal is demanding Rs. 2000/- as bribe for affecting the Inheritance Mutation (Warasati Intiqal) of land in favour of the complainant.

 

On receipt of the complaint Case FIR No. 33/2021 U/S 7 PC Act 1988 was registered in Police Station ACB Srinagar and investigation taken up.

 

“During the course of investigation, a trap team was constituted. The trap team laid a successful trap and caught red-handed Showkat Ahmad Lone, Patwari Halqa Hari Ganwan Gund, Ganderbal while demanding and accepting the bribe money from the complainant. He was arrested and taken into custody by ACB Team, ” ACB said in a handout here.
