Advisor Baseer Khan for fast pacing PMDP projects

JAMMU, APRIL 23: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmad Khan, today exhorted upon the officers to regularly review execution of Tourism projects under Prime Minister’s Development Package, SWADESH and address bottlenecks, if any, to ensure timely completion of these projects.

He issued these directions during a meeting held here to review the pace and progress of “Mantalai-Sudhmahadev-Patnitop and Gulmarg-Baramulla-Kupwara-Leh” projects being executed by NPCC and NBCC respectively.

Secretary Tourism, Sarmad Hafeez, gave a detailed presentation about the status of projects being carried out by the executing agencies.

Regarding the Mantalai-Sudhmahadev-Patnitop project, Advisor directed the NPCC to work in double shifts and complete the project by 31st May.

Advisor was informed by NPCC, that out of 22 components of the project, 12 have been completed.

Advisor directed the Deputy Commissioner Udhampur to take periodical review after every 10 days of each component and monitor the pace and progress of the projects. He also directed the NPCC to clear all the irregularities in coordination with the district administration.

Advisor further directed the Director Tourism, Jammu, to visit all the sites taken up by NPCC for monitoring and review.

Regarding the projects being executed by NBCC, Advisor was informed  that majority of the projects are advancing as per already set timelines and are at different stages of completion. Besides, the lagging projects are also being assiduously pursued by the concerned officers to ensure their smooth implementation.

It was given out that out of 30 projects, 10 projects already stand completed while the rest 6 are expected to be completed by June 2021.

While fixing timelines for the rest of the projects, Advisor directed that the projects at Drung, Mayheen and Rafiabad should be completed and handed over to the concerned by the end of May, 2021 while as the projects of Babareshi, Handwara and Khadimiyan should be handed over by the end of June, 2021.

Advisor was further informed that work on Gulmarg convocation complex has been alloted and will take about 12 months for completion.
