Jammu, March 13: Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Services Association has expressed grief over the over the sad and untimely demise of Somberia, a young KAS Officer.
The Officer was presently working as District Social Welfare Officer, Udhampur, with additional charge as District Information Officer.
After attending the funeral prayers at Krimchi, Udampur, an official spokesperson of the association said that the untimely demise of Sajad Bashir Somberia has shocked the JKAS fraternity, besides leading to the loss of a devout officer and a friend.
He added that the commitment of the officer towards services and his unrelenting efforts in the cause of public services will remain a part of our collective memory. He said that to hear about the loss of the officer is not only shocking but also hurtful. He further said that the association shares the grief of the family of the deceased officer and the collective heart of the association goes out to the family in this time of sorrow.
He said that fond memories of the deceased would be the source of peace and reflection in these tough times and his devotion towards the services shall be a source of inspiration for all of us.
On hearing the news Officers from the JKAS fraternity rushed to Udampur and attended the funeral prayers on Friday afternoon. Besides paying tributes to the deceased, the officers “fraternity” expressed solidarity with the family.
It is important to mention that the Officer hailed from a remote village of Alinbass, Banihal before shifting to Krimchi Udhampur.
The Officer is survived by three children, wife and an elderly father.
Besides serving as District Social Welfare Officer and Block Development Officer, the deceased has also served as Private Secretary to the then Finance Minister, J&K. Before joining the services in 2011, the Officer has worked in J& K Bank.
