Srinagar: Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti on Friday expressed dismay over non-functioning of Super Speciality Hospital Srinagar and the state of affairs at the Jammu Super Specialty Hospital.
She directed authorities to redouble efforts to make both the hospitals properly functional at the earliest. She also directed improving the cleanliness level at the G B Pant Hospital for better results.
Mehbooba also directed the Health and Medical Education Department to ensure availability of all essential medicine at the hospitals besides rendering selfless service by the medicos.
She was reviewing the progress on key projects of Health Department besides medical supplies and other services by the Department.
Minister for Health & Medical Education, Bali Bhagat; Minister for Finance, Dr. Haseeb Drabu and Minister of State for Health & Medical Education, Asiea Naqash were present in the meeting.
Mehbooba also directed the Department to ensure that the respective Heads purchase the requisite medicine from the Medical Supplies Corporation well in time and in no case should the delays or shortages be countenanced.
She also reviewed the pace of setting up one model hospital in each constituency with improved facilities and specialisation. She also directed pacing up work on several trauma hospitals on the National Highway so that the injured don’t have to travel long distances for specialised treatment.
The Chief Minister also directed optimal usage of health centres at Sanatnagar, Chanapora and Eidgah by augmenting the facilities and manpower, thereby reducing the burden on tertiary care hospitals.
