Covid-19 Claims Two More Lives, J&K Toll 135

Srinagar, Oct 18: Jammu and Kashmir reported eight more covid-19 related deaths in last 24 hours, taking the fatality count due to the virus to 1381.
Among those who succumbed to the pestilence include four residents of Srinagar and one each belonged to Pulwama, Jammu, Doda and Kathua.
Official sources said that among others the victims include a 60-year-old man from Tral Pulwama who died at SKIMS Soura, two days after he was admitted to the tertiary care hospital.
A 70-year-old woman from Rawalpora also died at SKIMS Soura, 11 days after she was admitted there, they said.
A 75-year-old man from Lal Bazar Srinagar died five days after he was admitted to CD hospital, one of the exclusive facilities for the management of the covid-19 patients in the Valley, they said
An 83-year-old woman from Narwal Satwari Jammu died 14 days after she was admitted to GMC Jammu. “She was on peritoneal dialysis with MODs with septic shock,” a doctor at the hospital said.
With these deaths, the fatality count has reached 924 in Valley and 457 in Jammu.
Srinagar district with 332 deaths tops the list followed by Jammu (237), Baramulla (135), Budgam (90), Pulwama (77), Kupwara (72), Anantnag (70), Kulgam (43), Bandipora(42), Rajouri (45), Doda (42), Shopian (33), Ganderbal (30), Kathua (30), Udhampur (25), Samba (24), Poonch (22), Kishtwar(14), Ramban (11), and Reasi (6).
