Srinagar, Oct 12: Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar on Monday said that a top commander of Lashker-e-Toiba Saifullah was among two militants trapped in Rambagh Barzulla area where a gunfight is going on since morning.
“The operation is continuing. Srinagar police got information that a Pakistani militant Saiffulah along with another, a local from south Kashmir, are hiding in the area. He is same Saifullah who was involved in Nowgam attack recently in which 2 CRPF personnel were killed. He was also involved in September 24 attack in Chadoora (in which an ASI of CRPF was killed,” said IGP Kashmir while talking to media persons at the sidelines of the encounter site. “We will soon neutralize him. We are moving carefully to avoid any collateral damage.” He said that militants were offered surrender as part of the SOP but they refused.
