Pahari Culture and Welfare Forum Anantnag holds meet at Dindipura

Anantnag, Sep 06: Pahari Culture and Welfare Forum (PCWF) Anantnag on Sunday held a meeting at Dindipura in which means to alleviate the problems being faced by the Pahari speaking people of Anantnag District in the issuance of Pahari Certificate (PC) were deliberated.
The meeting was chaired by Muhammad Sharif Bukhari and Sohail Khan who were recently unanimously elected President and General Secretary of the Pahari Cultural and Welfare Forum Anantnag’s Ad-hoc Body.
Bukari and Sohail Khan while speaking on the occasion said. “Pahari speaking people of Anantnag, especially of tehsil Kokernag and Larnoo are facing numerous difficulties in the issuance of certificates.
Appealing the concerned Tehsildars, the leaders said, “The concerned tehsildars should expedite the certificate issuance process so that Pahari speaking people of the area could avail the benefits provided by the government on the time.
They added Kokernag and Larnoo are only two such tehsils of Anantnag district where no PSP certicicate has been issued till date while rest of the tehsils of the district have issued a good number of certificates in favour of Pahari Speaking People.
Former Pahari Advisory Board member, Imtiaz Ahmad Khan and Bilal Ahmad Turki, called for holding village level elections of ad-hoc body of Pahari Cultural and Welfare Forum. Saying that Village level committees would boost the movement and ensure transparency of issuance of certificates.
Members attending the meeting urged upon the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha over removal of income slab imposed on the issuance of Pahari certificate.
