BASHARAT RASHID
TRAL: The residents of Amlar village in Tral on Saturday demanded de-notification of red zone status, asserting that no Covid-19 case has been reported from the village in last two months now.
The residents said that “one lady (Name withheld) in nearby village Nowpora tested positive and was shifted to District Hospital Pulwama by Health department.”
“She being CA patient undergoes treatment at Srinagar and has no more primary contacts and her family members were quarantined at HSS Noorpora,” they said.
They residents said that Nowpora being a different Panchayat village is only a part of village Amlar pertaining to revenue.
One of the locals said that Amlar village had a positive case in May following which it was declared Red Zone and “during that time Nowpora was excluded.”
He said that contrary to that they got surprised to see Amlar again as a Red Zone, after a case was detected in Nowpora area.
The locals expressed resentment over the decision of authorities and said that there is neither any positive case in Amlar nor any primary contact.
They said that “no person in the village is under Quarantine at present” and demanded denotification of the red zone status in the area.
