Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Thursday said that the people of south Kashmir have been left at the mercy of government forces.
Paying rich tributes to LeT commander Ayob Lelhari, who according to police was killed in brief encounter at Pulwama on Wednesday, a spokesman of the Hurriyat Conference (M) said that people of Kashmir are “sacrificing for a larger cause.”
He said the genuine demands of a ‘nation’ cannot be suppressed for long and “nor suppression as tool can be used to keep a nation under slavery.”
The spokesman said that non-resolution of Kashmir issue continues to be a biggest threat for entire region and stressed need for finding a lasting solution in consonance with the wishes and aspiration of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Instead of running away, there is a need to accept realities and find ways for lasting solution to Kashmir issue in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.
