DSEK Notice To G D Goenkia School For Charging Rs 5000 As Monthly Tuition Fee Per Student

Srinagar, June 2: Directorate of School Education Kashmir on Tuesday issued a notice to a famous here, asking its management to explain position regarding violation of government’s instructions on charging monthly fee sans approval from fee-fixation committee.
As per letter issued to chairman G D Goenkia Public School Lal Bazar Srinagar, the management has been asked to explain how it charges Rs 5000 per month as tuition fee from the students.
On May 20, the chairman had been directed to attend the office of the joint director DSEK on May 23 along with certain documents including the order of fee Fixation Committee to certify if it allows the school management to charge Rs. 5000 as monthly tuition fee from a student.
The Chairman, the letter says, attended the office of the Joint Director Schools and sought one weeks time to submit all those requisite documents including the order of Fee fixation Committee but after a lapse of one weeks time nothing has been heard from your end which shows “your nonseriousness towards the matter.”
“In view of the above facts and taking note of the circumstances you are directed to explain your position with regard to violation of orders of charging monthly fee to the tune of Rs 500 in absence of an approval from the Fee Fixation Committee,” the letter said, adding, “The reply should reach to this office within four days positively.
In case of any default, the letter says, “it shall be presumed that you have nothing to say in your defence and further action shall be initiates in terms relevant provisions of law.” (INS)
