Srinagar: Two militants were killed in an ongoing gunfight with government forces in the Melhora area of Zainapora in  South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday. However identity of the slain militant was yet to be ascertained as operation is still underway, local news agency quoted official sources as saying reported.
Earlier the joint team of Police and army’s 55 RR launched cordon and search operation in the area amid inputs about the presence of militants. As the joint team approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, which later retaliated, triggering off the encounter.
