Covid-19: SIDCO donates Rs. 18.10 lakh to J&K Relief Fund

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir State Industrial Development Corporation (SIDCO) today donated Rs 18.10 lakh to J&K Relief Fund to strengthen the ongoing efforts to contain the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19).
In this regard, Managing Director J&K SIDCO, Ravinder Kumar here today presented a cheque of Rs 18, 09,640 to Commissioner Secretary Industries and Commerce Department, Manoj Kumar Dwivedi as a contribution to J&K Relief Fund. The amount collected shall be deposited in the Relief account as a voluntary contribution from the staff of the Corporation.
Managing Director SIDCO apprised the Commissioner Secretary that the donation forms the part of salary of the Corporation’s employees who have contributed 5-day to one-day salary as per their salary grades.
He also informed that SIDCO has offered building and sheds in its Industrial Estates at Rangreth, Lassipora and Khunmoh to the respective district administrations for setting up of quarantine facilities. He further informed that all the Estates are being sanitized on a regular basis and SIDCO has distributed masks to employees engaged in essential services, various Industrial Units and cleaning workers.
The Commissioner Secretary appreciated the initiative taken by SIDCO and further asked the Managing Director to ensure that fumigation and cleanliness in their Industrial Estates is done on a daily basis.
He further directed him to extend all the cooperation to the essential goods manufacturing units for any administrative issue which they may face in the restrictive environment due to Covid-19 pandemic.
