Covid-19: Govt asks DCs, Police superintendents to asks religious leaders Not to call any gathering

Srinagar: The government on Friday asked all deputy commissioners and superintendents of police to ‘strictly’ advise religious leaders not to call any gathering in a bid to prevent the spread of coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir.
“DCs and SPs advised to strictly caution all religious leaders NOT to call any gatherings. Public gatherings a major source of social contact and spread of the virus,” said Principal Secretary, Planning, and government spokesman Rohit Kansal.
Meanwhile tougher restrictions have been imposed across Kashmir Valley to prevent movement of people on ninth consecutive day. Also, the administration has closed most of the religious places across Srinagar and elsewhere to prevent assembly of people so as to prevent assembly of people. The government has already closed all offices except those dealing with essential services till April 14.
