Militants likely to increase violence level: DGP Dilbagh Singh

Srinagar: Dilbag Singh, DGP JK Police on Friday said that violence level by militants is likely to be increased and the security grid will remain ‘in as much active form as required’.

Singh was addressing a joint presser along with Chinar Corps Commander Lt Gen KJS Dhillon in Srinagar.

“We’re getting inputs that violence levels are likely to be increased by militants. So, we’ve tried to strengthen grid on ground.Also,we’ve been told that troops must get time to relax.This is time for turnover.But grid will be in as much active form as required,” Singh said.

On being asked about the increase in troop numbers in Jammu & Kashmir he said that the force had been ‘into a number of activities since last few months and troops that have been deployed ‘did not get a chance to relax for a while.’
