Kupwara: Two civilians suffered injuries as Indi and Pakistan troops exchanged fire and mortar shells in alleged violation of ceasefire along the Line of Control in Kupwara’s Tanghdar sector.

Officials here said that Pakistani troops targeted the forward Jabdi posts of Indian Army which was retaliated, triggering of exchange of heavy motor shells which caused panic among the whole civilian population.  Pakistan army, they said, also targeted the civilian population injuring two persons— a middle aged women and a male person. The official identified both the injured as Ikhlaq Ahamd and woman as Reshma Jan. The people have started to move towards safer places, reports.

Heavy shelling from the ends was going on when this report was filed.
