Pulwama: Residents of Jawaharpora in Aripal Tehsil here are irked over failure of the administration to construct road under Pradan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) scheme despite passing of two years on the commencement.
Work on the three-kilometre Jawaharpora-Zozzbal road begun two years back even half a kilometer has not been completed yet, locals claim.
“Besides that, substandard material has been used on the other portions. The protection bunds were also not created which can damage the road,” locals said.
A delegation of locals have said that the authorities have left first half kilometre without work and had started work on further portions due to unknown reasons.
Meanwhile, Incharge Assistant Executive Engineer, PMGSY, Pulwama, Ab Rashid told INS that, “work on the first phase is already completed except around 300 meters in starting which has built up issues.”
“We are going to start second phase work on the road very soon and I assure that the road will be macadamised till the month of September,” Ab Rashid said.
