Seinagar: Srinagar Leh highway has been blocked by massive landslides at almost five places follwofol which authorities have suspended vehicular movement over the stretch.

Cloudburst occurred late Wednesday evening at Zojila Pass, an official said.

He said that Border road organisation men at work to clear the road and traffic movement will suspended for today till complete clearance of landslides is done.

An official told INS that police and other officials rushed to the places after reports of some passengers stranded on the road were received.

“The stranded passengers were retrieved during night and are safe now,” a police official said.

An offcial handout by SP Traffic Rural Kashmir said that in view of the blockade due to landslides & clearance work of the road at zojila, traffic won’t be allowed to ply both sides from Minamarg as well as from sonamarg till the road is made traffic worthy by the road maintenance agency.

“People are requested to kindly check the status of the road before starting their journey,”SP Trafic Rural kashmir’s office said.
