Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Medical Employees Federation members on Monday commenced two day hunger strike here to press government to accept their demands.
They said that the regularisation of academic arrangement SRO 384/409 paramedic, Nursing staff of GMC and dental college Jammu and Srinagar working for last nine years under clear vacancies and with proper selection procedures and criteria and should be considered for the regularization under the J&K special services provision act.
They also demand disbursement of pending 7th pay commission arrears.
“We demand release of two and half days salaries including facility of maternity and medicla leave infavour of SRO 384/409 employees of GMC Srinagar/Jammu as the said employees are performing their legitimate duties including all gazetted holidays and sundays,” they demanded.
Protesting employees are demanding regularisation on HDF employees and disbursement of salaries against them as per wages act for skilled, unskilled an highly skilled employees through government treasuries.
“Maternity leave for academic arrangement for paramedic and nursing staff and risk allowance for employees as well should be granted,” they said.
Chairman of of the federation Shabbir Ahmad Langoo told INS that they urge government to accept the demands of the employees otherwise they will have to take strong measures responsibility of which will be solely on Government.
They have also suspended membership of one Sheikh Hussain, general secretary, of breaching the organisation decision .
