Kupwara: Protests demonstrations were held in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district against Kashmir University administration for failing to make it’s offsite satellite campus in this district functional, despite promises from successive regimes.
Protesters said that the campus, which is under construction for 10th straight year now at Wayen Kupwara, is still no where near completion.
“It is a brazen disregard towards education providing nature of the University which is forcing students to hardships. KU’s inefficiency has only dented its administrative capabilities,” protesters alleged.
“A handsome population of our students including Boys and Girls who belong to economically weaker sections are made to suffer. The satellite campus in Leh was made functional in two years however in Kupwara a decade is not enough for KU,” Showkat Masoodi,
The protesters have threatened of across district protesters if authorities fail to make the campus functional at the earnest.
