Gunfight in Tral woods, 3 militants believed to be trapped; protests near bus stand

Pulwama: An encounter between militants and government forces hjas started in a forest area of Tral in this south Kashmir district on Wednesday, sources said.
They said the joint forces of 42RR, SOG and CRPF cordoned off Nagbal Brenpathri area in the woods and they were fired upon by militants. The fire was retaliated by the forces, triggered off an encounter, they said. Three militants are believed to be trapped in the woods, sources said.
Meanwhile protests erupted in Bus stand Tral and police and government forces resorted to heavy teargas shelling to disperse the protesters. When reports last came in, protests were going on.
