BASHARAT RASHID
TRAL: There is complete lack of anti-rabies vaccine in Tral hospital and a woman bitten by dog had to be shifted to Srinagar on Tuesday, sources said.
They said that multiple dog bite cases have come to the fore in the recent days at Tral and there is sheer lack of anti-rabies in the hospital.
Raising concern, the locals said, they are facing immense hardships in absence of anti-rabies vaccine in SDH Tral”.
The locals said that they were fetching the vaccine from the open market but “nowadays the anti-rabies vaccine is not even available there.”
A lady on Tuesday morning was bitten by a dog and was shifted to Tral hospital where she couldn’t get treatment and was subsequently shifted to Srinagar hospital.
The family members of the victim lady expressed resentment and said that hospital should have anti-rabies to treat dog bites patients. They demanded immediate supply of vaccine to the hospital.
Meanwhile, BMO Tral, Dr. Bashir Ahmad Malik, said that shortage of anti-rabies “is everywhere and is timely being mitigated.”
