Transporters and other trade unions have been protesting to seek exemption of toll tax for Kashmir vehicles at Kai-Chachkoot toll plaza near Awantipora in Pulwama district.
Manager toll plaza Mr Kuldeep told INS that after the order from Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, people living within 20 kilometers radius of toll plaza having private vehicles will be exempted from tax.
“After proper verification such people will be given the passes and will not be levied toll tax,” he said.
Kuldeep said that he urges people to not ‘pay heed to rumours’ as ‘toll plaza will work without inconvenience to any one’.
