Tral: Municipal committee Tral (MCT) sweepers on Thursday staged a protest demonstration in Bus Stand Tral against alleged manhandling of their colleagues and demanded that collection points be established for dumping of garbage and other wastes.
They said that two of their colleagues were beaten by some locals in downtown area of Tral.
Soon after the incident all the unloaded garbage in main chowk of Tral as a mark of protest.
The protesters said that all the places in South Kashmir have dumping sites but no site is being created in Tral
Tehsildar Tral, Ghulam Rasool told INS that he has assured protesting sweepers of collection points in the sub division soon.
He further said that sweepers who were beaten have been asked to submit a written complaint at Tehsil office.
“Once i will receive written complaint from them, action shall be taken against the violators accordingly,” Ghulam Rasool said.
