Pulwama: An athlete from Pulwama  has bagged Silver Medal in 9th South Asia Hakukai Karate championship at international indoor stadium New Delhi, held on 27th and 28th of April this year. 
He has been selected for the upcoming World Hakukai Karate championship.
Hafiz Mohammad Asif son of Mohammad Ramzan Bhat, a resident of Naina Batpora in Pulwama district has been selected to represent India at international level for the Karate Championship, which is to be played at Japan in August this year.
“I am so happy for selecting in international level. I believe that this opportunity would change my life,” Asif said.
Asif will be part of the five member team selected to represent India at international level. Among them two  have won gold medals, two with bronze.
“To prepare for the International championship, we are going to start training sessions very soon and I hope I will perform well at international level to make everyone proud,” Asif said.
