Ganderbal: Three polling booths of Nunner area in Ganderbal weared a deserted look with only forces stationed outside as no one in the area turned to vote on Thursday.
Polling is underway in three districts of Kashmir for Srinagar Parliamentary seat.
Three booths for the Nunner area has been set up in Government Girls Higher Secondary School Nunner Ganderbal.
Zahid Rashid Sheikh, s.o Abdul Rashid Shiekh was killed in a gunfight with government forces on April 6 along with an associate in Shopian.
Three polling booths Nunar A 94 has a total registered voters 869, for Nunar B 95, there are 627 total registered voters, and Nunar C 96 has 1094 total registered voters.
“The total of 2590 voters were to cast vote in the area however till 2 pm no voter turned up,” an official said, adding that they expect someone might come to booth.
Zahid was a MTech student.
