To make teachers ‘accountable’ CEO Ganderbal orders ‘handover phones before entering classrooms’

Srinagar: Shool teachers in the district Ganderbal has been barred  from taking their mobile phones to classrooms. The Chief Education Officer Ganderbal, in its ban order says that mobile phone “hampers the academic process”.

“It has come to the notice of the undersigned that most of the school teachers are using mobile phones in their classes during teaching time, which hampers the academic process,”  the order issued by CEO Ganderbal, Naheed Neelofar reads.

The ban, CEO said, is being ordered in order to stop this practice and to make teachers ‘accountable’ and the order be implemented by all the principals, zonal education officers and headmasters.

“All  teachers should handover their mobile phones to them before entering class,” it said.

The CEO has warned that action would follow for any violation of the order.
