Jammu: Police on Wednesday detained seven Jammu university students protesting against the killing of RSS leader and his PSO in Kishtwar, while Jammu High court suspended day’s work against the killing.

According to reports Jammu High court bar association decided to suspend work for the day as a protest against the assassination of the duo.

“Students of Jammu university tried to take out march and protest and blocked University-Railway Station road leading to chaos in the area,” they said.

Police swung into action and cane charged the students and arrested seven of them.

Dogra Swabhiman Sangathan chief and a former BJP leader Chaudhary Lal Singh was also detained after he tried to move towards curfew bound Kishtwar.

“Singh was detained by police in Doda and not let go to Kishtwar,” official sources said.

RSS leader Chandrakant Sharma and his PSO Rajinder Kumar was killed after unidentified gunmen opened fire on theem inside the premises of District Hospital Kishtwar. Sharma was a medical assistant at hospital.

Kishtwar and Bhaderwa areas of the Jammu division of the state is under lock down after government imposed curfew in the twin areas following killings.
