Children Joins Protesting PHE Labourers, Daily Wagers: ‘Governor Sahib: Don’t Have School Fee Because I’m PHE Daily Wagers Child’

Srinagar: Children of PHE casual labourers and daily wagers joined their parents to press for demands including release of wages pending for months.
“Governor sahib: Don’t have school fee because I’m PHE daily wagers child,” read the placards carried by the children as they and their parents protested in Srinagar on Thursday, officially a holiday on account of Mehraj-ul-Alam.
The casual laborers and daily wagers working with PHE department have been regularly protesting from last several days, demanding release of their wages pending for months and regularization of their services.
“Our families are hugely suffering. The studies of our children have taken hit owing to non-release of wages by the government. We have no money to pay school fee,” said a protester whoking as daily-wager with the PHE.
