Handwara: Former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday said that she will not hold the Indian flag and won’t abide by the Indian constitution if Article 370 is tampered with.
“If Article 370 is scrapped, I will not hold the Indian flag neither will abide by the indian constitution,” Mufti said while addressing a workers meet.
She made these comments while referring to recent statement made by BJP’s Amit Shah that J&K’s special status will be repealed and Article 35A will go by 2020.
“The relationship between India and J&K is defined by the Article 370 and if it is scrapped, the relationship will end as well. I will not hold the Indian flag and will not abide by the Indian constitution,” she said.
Mehbooba also criticised National Conference of ditching people of the state through false promises.
“It is only PDP that can resolve the Kashmir issue,” she said.
She welcomed the Congress’s promises that if voted to power they will review AFSPA, Distrubed Area Act, will safeguard special status provisions to the state of J&K and will reduce the footprints of forces as well.
Mufti said that attaching property of Syed Ali Geelani and Shabir Shah, banning Jamat e Islami and JKLF, NIA raids are being done to gather votes.
She promised that if voted to power she will work to lift the ban on JeI and JKLF.
