Sopore: Five residential houses were completely damaged in a major fire incident at Chankhan area of Sopore during late last night.
According to reports fire erupted from the house of Khazir Muhammad Malla and  engulfed the houses of Bashir Ahmad Malla, Abdul Rashid Malla, late Muhammad Maqbool Malla and Ghulam Nabi Malla.
Fire and Emergency officials reached the spot to control the overnight blaze and stopped it from spreading in the locality.
Officials said that they are investigating the cause of fire.
