Anantnag: As schools reopened after winter vacation of three months, the despicable condition of many schools again came forth. In one instance, for now, district administration Anantnag took a first hand stock of situation in Shahabad Monghal area of the district.
Anantnag District Development Commissioner Khawaja Nazir Ahmad visited the school along with Deputy CEO Anantnag and passed directions to CEO Anantnag to look into the matter on priority basis.
“The situation of the school building is very deplorable. It is unfortunate that this is happening in 21st century. It is totally unacceptable for society and administration,” Ahmad told INS.
INS had reported on the condition of the school and the deplorable condition it is in.
Monghal school is not the only one working in such conditions, Government primary school in checke Shahabad village in South Kashmir’s Anantnag District is housed in a two-room muddy building.
The two room school in Shahabad houses one classroom and and office, with nine students and three teachers.
This school was established in March 2004.
District administration officials ‘promised to take swift cognizance and action’ however locals remain skeptical of any action.
