Woman, 2 kids killed in Poonch as Indo-Pak skirmishes continue on LoC

Poonch: Two young children and their mother were killed and four persons including army soldiers, one of them a Major ranked officer, were injured as armies of India and Pakistan continued to trade fire along the Line of Control in Poonch district.
A police officer that the two brothers— Mohammad Faizan (5) and Shabnum Kounsar (9) and their mother Rubeena Kounsar wife of Mohd Younis died on the spot and two other persons of the family suffered injuries when a mortar shell fired by Pakistani army hit their house at Salotri village.
He said two army soldiers including a Major of 39 RR also received injuries. “Both the injured were taken to military hospital for treatment”.
On Thursday, a woman was killed and a soldier was injured when Pakistani Army allegedly heavily shelled forward posts in six sectors along the LoC in Poonch and Rajouri districts.
In view of the prevailing situation, authorities have ordered temporary closure of educational institutions in a 5-km radius along the the LoC in Rajouri and Poonch districts.
