Police arrests one person who stole SMHS doctor’s laptop

Srinagar: Police on Thursday said to have arrested an individual for stealing a laptop and recovered it from his possession.

A police spokesman said police station Karanagar received a written complaint from Dr. Yasmeena stating that her laptop (Mac Book Air) was stolen from SMHS hospital.

Accordingly, a case FIR No. 12/2019 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Karan Nagar & investigation was taken up.

“Officers while investigating the case got to know that two persons are roaming in HMT Chowk with one laptop and are going to sell it at low cost. Officers arrived at spot and nabbed one person namely Muzamil Ahmad Malik son of Bashir Ahmad Malik resident of HMT Chowk along with the laptop.

“When officers spoke to him, he confessed to the crime and revealed the name of another accomplice involved in the theft of laptop. Efforts are on to arrest the other accused,” the spokesman added.
