The hearing is slated from Feb 12 to Feb 14.

The standing counsel for the state of J&K has asked for the adjournment till the elected government is in place.

In its request to SC, J&K government has said that the matter listed from Feb 12 to 14, on the day of listing they will be ‘requesting for the adjournment in the matter since presently there is no elected government in the state of J&K and the state is under Presidents rule.’

“The present matter involves a sensitive issue regarding a challege to article 35A of the constitution of India,” the letter reads.

“It will therefore be requested that the matter may kindly be heard when an elected government is in place,” reads the letter.
