BASHARAT RASHID
TRAL : The locals in Batagund village of Tral in Pulwama on Saturday locked down a primary health centre for failing to manage patient care in the area as the centre was “found closed at 12pm today”
In a video, which went viral on social media, a gathering of people, with a patient, can be seen expressing resentment over absence of medical staff including doctors in the health centre.
“Wuchue haz 12 bajay magar yeti chun kihin (See it’s 12 but nobody is here),” a person is saying loudly in the video.
Soon after it, the locals lost their temper “keeping in view the situation of patient” and locked down the health centre.
The locals have demanded immediate action over the “callous attitude of staff members in the hospital” to mitigate their sufferings.
However, an official from health department has said that, he will look into the matter.
Pertinently, Batagund healthcentre was upgraded some years back as ‘New Type Health Centre’, which has been in news for lacking staff members.
