Tral : Thousands of people on Saturday attended the funeral prayers of six slain Ansar Ghazwat Ul Hind militants in Tral area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
All the six militants were killed in a gunfight with security forces at Arampora area of Awantipora in South Kashmir’s Tral sub district today morning.
Eyewitnesses said that a large number of people from Tral, Awantipora and adjoining areas assembled at the native villages of slain militants.
They said that thousands of mourners raised pro-freedom slogans as they marched with the bodies of all the six slain at their native villages in Dadasara, Amlar and Arampora.
Earlier, clashes erupted near Lalgam passing at Tral and a complete shutdown is being observed across the sub district and adjacent areas soon after the news of the gunfight and the subsequent killing of the militants spread in the area.
