Srinagar: Chaos, emotional scenes and protests were witnessed at Srinagar’s SMHS hospital on Saturday after the injured persons who had sustained bullet injuries in different parts of body were shifted to the hospital for specialized treatment here.

The people in large number were seen outside the hospital here raising slogans in favour of freedom and against India at a time when the injured persons were being shifted to the hospital. People from different places were seen also waiting outside the operation theatre here when the surgery of the injury civilians was being conducted in the second floor of SMHS hospital.

The family members, relatives and friends of injured civilians were either crying or busy in narrating the horrific scene witnessed in Pulwama today.

Deputy Commissioner Pulwama G M Dar has confirmed the killing of seven civilians, saying that the toll of injured persons is not available yet.  However, the women outside the theatre were seen wailing for their dear ones who had sustained bullet injuries.

Manzoor Ahmad, one among the attendants told INS that the forces have fired indiscriminately upon the youth who were standing on the roadsides. “My nephew has also sustained bullet injury in his abdomen. His condition is serious,” Ahmad said.

The people from Pulwama either relatives or family members of injured civilians continue to visit the hospital to see their dear ones. However, the hospital authorities told INS that one among the injured succumbed to the injuries, taking the death toll to seven.
