Pulwama: A cricket tourney was inaugurated at Tral Premier League at Green Park stadium Tral, the only official stadium here, while participating teams complained of dilapidated conditions of the ground there biggest concern. 
“The ground is filled with mulberry trees, rocks, and potholes. This is s a cruel joke with us,” said a player who will be playing in the tourney.
According to Umar Yaseen, a cricketer playing the tourney, said that there are potholes in center of the ground and playing is full of risk.
“Our player Mohammad Saquib was injured on very first game of tournament,” Yaseen told INS.
The players said that, rains always give them tough time but the problem is added due to “sewage” running into the ground.
“Concerned authorities including former secretary sports council Waheed Ur Rahman Parra visited here to take stock of the ground situation but nothing has been done so far,” they said.
The players have urged the authorities to improve the condition of the ground on immediate basis.
An official of Sports Council Kashmir and the Incharge Sports Council, Ground Tral, Mohammad Akram, told INS that, demands of players are genuine.
“We have discussed the issue with Additional deputy commissioner Tral, DDC Pulwama and Director Sericulture Kashmir for the removal of mulberry trees in the stadium,” Akram said.
